a Calvinistic doctrine that God, to demonstrate divine grace and justice, predetermined those of humankind who would be among the elect, and those who would be damned, before decreeing the creation and fall of humanity, as a means to achieve the end (opposed to infralapsarianism and sublapsarianism).
